The Arts Council is delighted to announce its decisions on first round of the small arts festivals scheme for 2009. A total of €476,250 has been offered to 72 festivals around the country.

The Small Arts Festivals Scheme is designed in the main to support and provide opportunities for small arts festivals or events seeking funding of up to €20,000. The Small Arts Festivals Scheme is intended to provide the flexibility required by the full range of arts organisations availing of this scheme: from local events with short lead in times, requiring only modest sums, to more ambitious initiatives involving longer planning cycles and requiring more in terms in funding.
