The Irish Writers Centre is delighted that its close relationship with the Norwegian Embassy in Ireland is continuing to flourish with this announcement of another Irish-Norwegian Writers’ Exchange supported by the Norwegian Embassy and Hordaland Fylkeskommune (County Council).

The Exchange consists essentially of a two week-long residency for one writer from each country to work on their writing, with one or two public or workshop commitments during the week.  The Irish writer will travel to Bergen, Norway, and the Norwegian writer will travel to Anam Cara Artists’ and Writers’ Retreat and River Mill Writers’ Retreat.  Both WIRS are expected to meet and support one another during their residencies.  The Norwegian WIR may spend one or two nights in another location on the way to or from the retreats, and if feasible, the Irish WIR may be asked to host.
