7. Visual Artists’ Workspace Scheme 2011

The Arts Council invites applications for grants towards the running costs of visual artists’ workspaces. Following the Council’s recent policy Visual Artists’ Workspaces in Ireland – A New Approach, it is implementing this new scheme with the aim of assisting group studios throughout the country to provide the best possible environment for working visual artists and, where feasible, to enable a level of subsidy for resident visual artists.

The scheme will award grants of up to €30,000 towards running costs such as light, heat, rent, artists’ development programmes, administration and/or appropriate salary costs (capital costs and public programmes such as exhibitions/public events cannot be applied for through this grant programme). Any grant offers will be once-off for 2011. There is an overall total available fund of €250,000.

The closing date for the Visual Artists’ Workspace Scheme is Thursday 9 September 2010 at 5.30pm
