2017 Publications/Title by Title Scheme decisions

The Arts Council is pleased to publish decisions in relation to the 2017 Publications/Title by Title Scheme. The Scheme assists in the production of high quality literary titles and journals, and supports their promotion and dissemination to a wide audience.

The Arts Council received 36 eligible applications for the scheme, with a total demand of €768,800. The available budget was €280,000. Nineteen awards were made to support the publication of 19 titles and to support the costs of 9 journals. Works to be published will be in Irish and English, in both traditional and online formats, and will cover numerous genres including children’s literature, poetry and literary fiction.

The full list of decisions can be found here.

Speaking about the Scheme, the Arts Council’s Head of Literature, Sarah Bannan, said: “The Arts Council is delighted to put its support behind these individual titles and journals. Despite the challenges that they are facing, indigenous publishers are demonstrating a commitment to literary excellence and high production values, while working hard to reach as wide an audience as possible. The Arts Council is proud to provide funding to works of such a high literary standard through this Scheme, and remains committed to supporting artistic excellence in Irish publishing.”
