Updated Code of Governance Framework

The Arts Council is committed to operating to the highest standards of corporate governance and has adopted a corporate governance regime in accordance with best practice. To this end the Council has put in place a Code of Governance Framework which consists of a suite of governance documents setting out the policies, procedures and responsibilities which guide how the Council conducts its business.

Laureate for Irish Fiction Sebastian Barry brings Life Lines, the Laureate for Irish Fiction Book Club, to a number of health settings this August. The book club aims to engage readers across a variety of distinct and harder to reach settings with contemporary Irish fiction.

The Arts Council and University College Cork announce Pat Murphy as Film Artist in Residence (Screenwriter) for 2018-19.

The Film Artist in Residence role is jointly funded by the Arts Council and UCC and is offered in association with the Cork Film Festival. It is designed to provide a screenwriter of distinction with a unique opportunity to develop his/her practice in a university environment, while offering students the opportunity to engage with a practising artist in a meaningful way during the course of their studies.

Jack Harte Bursary 2019

The Irish Writers Centre and the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig have come together again to offer a two-week fully resourced Writer-in-Residence Bursary to take place in spring 2019. The award is named in honour of Jack Harte, founder of the Irish Writers Centre, in celebration and acknowledgement of his contribution to Irish literature.

This call for tenders aims to define and test a cross-border mobility scheme for artists and culture professionals which will pave the way for the full implementation of a mobility scheme for artists within the new 2021-2027 Creative Europe programme.
