Bealtaine Festival are currently recruiting for an Arts and Culture Co-ordinator on a part time basis. Deadline for applications is Friday August 12.
Age & Opportunity is a national NGO that inspires people to make choices that lead to fulfilling, healthy lives as we age. Since 1988, we have been influencing and shaping policy to ensure the active participation of older people in ways that benefit our communities and wider society.
We are the leading organisation providing nationwide programmes in the arts (the national Bealtaine Festival), physical activity (the Go For Life Programme) and active citizenship and lifelong learning (the Get Vocal and Get Engaged Programmes, and Creative Exchanges), so that all older people can live a rich and varied life.
Our Bealtaine Festival, which celebrates creativity throughout our lives, is Ireland’s largest collaborative arts festival, and one of the oldest festivals of its kind, having inspired a number of similar international festivals. Although the festival is at the centre of Age & Opportunity’s arts and culture programme, other initiatives such as Samhain (an event that looks at the darker side of ageing), Cultural Companions (a membership-based group of people interested in attending arts and cultural events together), and Beosach (Age & Opportunity’s international arts and culture journal) make up the arts and culture programme.
Our work is primarily funded by the HSE, Sport Ireland, the Arts Council of Ireland and the Atlantic Philanthropies.
