Arts Council and Arts & Disability Ireland announce the awarded artists of the 2020 Arts and Disability Connect scheme

Arts and Disability Connect is a scheme designed to support artists with disabilities to make new and ambitious work.

2020 marks the 7th year of this Arts Council scheme managed by Arts & Disability Ireland. €39,350, an increase of €10,000, has been awarded to 14 artists through New Work, Mentoring and Training awards.

John Broderick – a writer’s gift to Athlone

Writers are invited to apply for the next John Broderick residency for 2020 / 2021.

 

The residencies are in partnership with Westmeath County Council and are based in Athlone. Outgoing writer in residence Martin Dyar said, The John Broderick residency is a doorway into a beautiful county, and into an uncannily vibrant artistic community. The presiding spirit, John Broderick himself, is a great and nourishing subject, and Athlone’s superb Aidan Heavey Library is a beautifully hospitable setting in which to explore it.”

Music Network - Taking Charge of your Performance Career 2020

Music Network is presenting Taking Charge of your Performance Career 2020, a free online professional development course for musicians delivered by four leading industry experts. The special series of live online training sessions aims to help musicians from all genres to develop the skills necessary to respond to the music industry’s shifting demands. Streamed Live on Facebook, the presentations will take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 3pm from 28 April - 21 May, delivered by Nick Roth, Steve Lindsey, Frances Mitchell and Laoise O’Brien.
