Check it out: Test the new arts video-sharing site
More and more artists and arts organisations are using video to promote their work, and especially to create a bit of buzz in the run-up to a performance, exhibition or other event.
Since the summer, the Arts Council has been working with the Institute of Local Television encouraging organisations to help organisations make ‘trailers’ for upcoming events, and already they’ve made more than 100 great videos promoting the arts.
In addition, many artists listing their events on culturefox.ie are now uploading or linking to a video of their work.
The promoters already share all of these videos on social media pages, but we wanted to help get them out to even more people, so we are building an arts video-sharing site as part of culturefox.
The site automatically displays videos from two sources – videos that are part of a current culturefox.ie listing, and any video made by an arts organisation with the Institute of Local Television – and so far it looks great on desktop and on mobile devices.
We’re still testing it, but you can check out the beta version at: www.culturefox.tv .
