5. Decisions: Artist in the Community Scheme, second round 2009

Twice yearly, the Arts Council offers grants to enable artists and communities of place/interest to work together on projects. The scheme covers all art forms. The Artist in the Community Scheme is managed by Create, the national development agency for collaborative arts, providing services for arts development and collaborative arts practice in Ireland.

The selection panel members were: Anthony Haughey, lens based artist; Caoimhín Corrigan, County Leitrim arts officer, Director of The DOCK and Irish commissioner for Venice 2009; Michelle Browne, visual artist/curator; George Seremba, playwright and actor; Liz Burns, Development Manager, Fire Station Artists Studio; Sheila Gorman, observer, Arts Participation Officer, Arts Council and Emma Geraghty Create Learning Development alumni student observer, DIT.
