Vol 10 Issue 1
28 September 2012

Welcome to the September edition of our newsletter

In this month's newsletter: The Arts Council programme to mark Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union will celebrate artists and arts organisations in Ireland working in co-operation with colleagues based elsewhere in Europe. This is a special programme, in partnership with the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and with financial support from the Department of the Taoiseach.

We have deadline information. Reel Art scheme 2013: Launched in 2008, Reel Art is designed to provide film artists with a unique opportunity to make highly creative, imaginative and experimental documentaries on an artistic theme. Artist in Youth Work Residency Scheme 2012-13: There are two awards under this scheme, the Artist in Residency Award and the Youth Arts Development Award. We also remind you of the deadline for Touring and Dissemination of Work - July to December 2013.

The Arts Council announces details of successful recipients for the following awards: The Project awards, which support specific project activities under each of the artform/arts practice areas. The Dance Artist in Residence Scheme for 2012, this scheme is to stabilise and support a network of dance artists in residence across the country. Also we announce details of successful recipients under the Theatre Resource Sharing Scheme for 2012; this award is to offer organisations the opportunity to share administrative and production resources with a number of individual theatre artists over a specified period of time. The Theatre Development Funding Scheme, which gives arts organisations the opportunity to offer developmental and mentoring programmes to groups of theatre artists. Also, the Theatre Artist in Residence Scheme, the purpose of which is to offer theatre artists the opportunity to create a year-long work programme in partnership with venues and local authorities. The Touring and Dissemination of Work Scheme 2013, round 1; this scheme is designed to support the touring and dissemination of work in all arts disciplines.

Arts Audiences will run pre-application workshops for organisations and individuals thinking of applying for touring funding for the period July – December 2013, or for the ‘Advance Planning’ strand relating to touring during 2014.

Applications for the Arts & Disability Awards Ireland 2012 are now closed. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application in November.
