Developing an Equality, Human Rights and Diversity Policy

For the past year the Arts Council has been working actively to develop a comprehensive Equality, Human Rights and Diversity policy. This was informed by our requirement to put a Gender Equality Policy in place in 2018 and our wider Public Sector Duty to proactively safeguard against discrimination on the nine grounds enshrined in legislation – gender, sexual orientation, civil or family status, religion, age, disability, race or membership of the Traveller Community.

Update on Creative Schools: Creative Associates have started to meet with their schools to begin the first stages of their work together.

Literature Bursary Award Information Clinics

The deadline for the next round of the Arts Council’s Literature Bursary Award (for writers working in English) is Thursday 31 January 2019 at 5.30pm. In advance of this deadline, the Arts Council will hold information clinics in Poetry Ireland and the Irish Writers Centre to offer advice and information on the application process.

Katy Fitzpatrick has worked for over fifteen years in arts education, in particular in gallery education, and has held positions in the Royal Hibernian Academy, Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Tate London, Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane and Irish Museum of Modern Art.

The closing date for tours starting from July to December 2019 and for Advance Planning 2020 will be January 10, 2019.
