Tremble Tremble An exhibition by Jesse Jones

The Arts Council was delighted to attend the opening of Tremble Tremble at Project Arts Centre in Dublin which opened on Thursday, 8 June 2018.

This is the national presentation of the Irish Pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale, 2017, which is supported by the Arts Council.

The Chair of the Arts Council, Sheila Pratschke opened the exhibition and said.

“The Arts Council is proud to support the return of Ireland’s national presentation from the Venice Art Biennale 2017,” said Arts Council Chair, Sheila Pratschke. “Jesse Jones is one of Ireland’s most important artists and this work demonstrates the rigour and integrity of her practice. We are delighted that we can bring the presentation home so that the Irish public can see the work that represented Ireland at the world’s most important and high profile art exhibition.”

Jesse Jones threw a spotlight on feminism and women’s issues with her work Tremble Tremble when she represented Ireland at the 57th Venice Biennale / La Biennale di Venezia, in 2017. Jesse Jones returns to Dublin with the Irish premiere of this timely work. Jones will transform Project’s Space Upstairs into a multi-media immersive installation work. The presentation of the work in Ireland is an Arts Council policy initiative, and is being made possible by a €64,000 investment by the state agency for developing the arts as part of its commitment to bring visual arts to Irish audiences.

The exhibition runs until July 18, 2018 and admission is free. For more information please contact: justine.harrington@artscouncil.ie
