Danny O’Mahony appointed Traditional Artist in Residence 2019-20 at University College Cork

The Arts Council, in partnership with The College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences (UCC) and the School of Film, Music and Theatre (UCC), announce the appointment of the acclaimed performer and teacher, Danny O’Mahony, as the Traditional Artist in Residence at University College Cork 2019-20. O’Mahony will deliver a series of concerts, workshops, and classes over the course of his 1-year residency, beginning in September.

Writer Dermot Bolger receives Anthony Cronin Award.

The award is made in memory of poet, writer and Saoi of Aosdána Anthony Cronin and is worth €13,000 which includes €3,000 for international travel.

Tender published to manage and deliver Creative Places Tuam

Following the announcement to develop the pilot Creative Places project in Tuam, the Arts Council is now seeking project management services to manage and deliver the three year pilot programme. The press release on the project can be read here.

In response to the Review of Venues and Arts Centres the Arts Council introduces Arts Centre Funding for 2020.

 

The purpose of Arts Centre Funding is to invest in and support the infrastructure of arts centres required to sustain and develop the arts in Ireland.

Scéim Tacaíochta sna hEalaíona Dúchasacha don Óige 2019 (Traditional Arts for Youth Support Scheme 2019)

Ealaín na Gaeltachta invites applications from community groups and organisations who wish to develop a programme in the traditional arts among young people.

This Scheme is intended for Gaeltacht areas that don't already have a traditional arts youth scheme in place, or an organisation that manages a traditional arts programme.

Congratulations to the 11 Irish organisations awarded Co-operation Funding!

Congratulations to the 11 Irish organisations selected for Creative Europe Co-operation Funding in 2019! Nine Irish organisations are partners in new Co-operations projects with two - Design & Crafts Council of Ireland and Limerick Institute of Technology - taking the role as Lead Partners in projects. €3 million has been granted directly to Irish organisations during this Creative Europe Programme 2014 - 2020.
