Welcome to the February edition of the Arts Council newsletter

This month, the Arts Council and the Office of Public Works announce the recipient of the Kevin Kieran Architecture Award 2011-2013.  This award is an opportunity for an emerging architect to develop and deliver a research project over two years supported by the Arts Council, and subsequently to design and run a building contract for the Office of Public Works.

A reminder on the upcoming deadline for the Project Awards is included, along with a notice on a number of information clinics which will be held in March around the country.  The clinics will offer advice and information on the application process to artists and organisations interested in applying for the Project Awards.

The Council announces the deadlines for the Artist in the Community Scheme 2011, a scheme which enables artists and communities of place/or interest to work collaboratively on arts projects.  We include a reminder on the upcoming closing date for the Jerome Hynes Fellowship for cultural leaders, an award that aims to develop outstanding cultural leaders for Ireland.

In addition, we include an important notice on changes to the Deis Award 2011, applications will now only be accepted through the online system and deadlines for the scheme have been introduced.  Information on the deadline for the Deis Recording Award is also in this edition. This award provides support for the realisation of traditional arts recording projects (including CD production), applications for this award will also only be allowed through the online system.  Furthermore, the application window is now open for the Location One Fellowship, an opportunity for an artist to participation in an international residency programme at Location One based in New York, in order to develop their practice and create new work.

The newsletter rounds off with our regular articles on news from the arts community and international opportunities from the Cultural Contact Point.
