Project Awards 2012 (Round One)
The Arts Council has announced details of its Project award for 2012, Round One. This award supports specific projects in the field of a particular artform commencing in 2012. The Arts Council received 222 applications for Round One. Forty eight awards have been made to the value of €999,942.00. Some of the work which will be supported next year includes artist Cleo Fagan who will curate an educational programme on contemporary visual art for fifth-class students at St Catherine's Primary School, Rush, County Dublin; Grainne Hope for a collaboration between Musique et Sante, Kids Classics and Crumlin Children's Hospital to design a programme to increase patient participation in music in hospitals; Landmark productions to produce the world premiere of a new play, by Irish writer Emma Donoghue, presented in partnership with HATCH and Dublin Theatre Festival and directed by Annabelle Comyn; Theatre Lovett’s new show for children, with eight established actors, musicians and designers stepping into the world of children’s theatre to mine and explore de la Mare’s 1939 'Animal Stories'.
