Welcome to the November edition of our Newsletter
We’ve already begun our series of forums around the country, discussing our new strategy, Making Great Art Work with stakeholders. We kicked off last week in Wexford, where we had a really engaged, thoughtful and enjoyable session with artists, cultural workers and arts practitioners, listening to their response to the strategy and discussing initial priorities for the first three year plan, 2017-2019.
Over the coming weeks we will be in Cork (today), Dublin, Galway, Limerick and Sligo, where we will continue the conversation about what practitioners find encouraging and motivating about the strategy, what challenges they foresee, and what specific actions should be taken in the first three year plan.
Equally important, and running in parallel to these gatherings, is our online survey. The questionnaire is detailed. There are 12 questions in total -- six about you and your connection with the arts and six about the strategy -- and will only really make sense if you have already read Making Great Art Work. But we would really like to hear the perspective and thoughts of every stakeholder, in as specific terms as possible.
We will collate the submissions of this online forum, and they will be of great assistance to us as we develop the first three-year plan. In January, we will make available a report of the combined responses to the strategy.
I look forward to hearing from you online through this page.
