Changes to Traditional Arts Funding in 2018

Activity previously funded through the Deis Award will now be accommodated through the Traditional Arts Project Award in 2018

The Arts Council will offer a second round of the Traditional Arts Project Award 2018.  It will be called the Traditional Arts Project Award 2018 Round 2 and the deadline will be 15 February 2018 with results issued to applicants in April 2018.

To date the Traditional Arts Project Award focused on large-scale and ambitious traditional arts projects, whereas the Deis Award supported small to medium-scale traditional arts projects.

As part of the Council’s new funding framework the Traditional Arts Project Award 2018 Round 2 will accommodate applications relating to large-scale and ambitious projects as well as applications relating to small to medium-scale traditional arts projects which were previously funded through the Deis Award.

The Deis Recording and Publications Award will continue as a stand-alone funding programme in 2018. It will be for traditional arts projects where the primary objective is recording and/or publication. The deadline for the Deis Recording and Publication Award will be in April 2018.

Guidelines for the Traditional Arts Project Award 2018 Round 2 will be available on the Arts Council’s website in mid-December.
