10. Notice to the arts sector on swine flu pandemic planning

As it is becoming increasingly likely that all organisations will be impacted to some degree by H1N1 swine flu, the Arts Council is in the process of preparing its contingency plan in the event of being affected.

All organisations are encouraged to consider the implications of H1N1 swine flu for their own operations and events, undertake a risk assessment and create a contingency plan.  In this regard, the following links may be of assistance:

  • Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment: http://www.entemp.ie/publications/index.htm contains detailed and practical guides to pandemic planning.
  • World Health Organisation: http://www.who.int/csr/disease/swineflu/en/ contains regular daily updates on the most up-to-date information, number of reported cases, information on the affected regions and countries.
  • Health Services Executive: www.hse.ie/eng/swineflu contains general information and literature on the current situation, general precautions and advice, links to other information sources.
