
Call for proposals: Youth in Action
EACEA has announced a call for proposals under Action 4.4 'youth support systems'. The aim of this call is to support projects which encourage creativity and the introduction, implementation and promotion of innovative and qualitative elements in non-formal education and youth work.
Priority under this call will be assigned to projects focusing on:
- Media literacy of young people
- e-youth work
The deadline for submission of applications is 30 September 2009 and projects must start between 1 December 2009 and 31 March 2010. The duration of the projects is from 12 to 18 months.

The role of culture in boosting creativity and innovation in Europe is further recognised at EU level
The Ministers of Culture of the 27 Member States recognise that a strategic investment in culture, as well as in cultural and creative industries is vital for strengthening a dynamic creative society and creating jobs in the European Union.
On 12 May, the Ministers of Culture of the EU member states adopted council conclusions on culture as a catalyst for creativity and innovation. This policy document is based on the second pillar of the European Agenda for Culture in a globalising world.

Call for presentations: international conference 'Performing Arts Training Today'
When: 28-31 October, 2009
Where: Leibnitz, Austria
About: The conference is open to performers from all over the world interested in the research of topical questions and processes in contemporary performing arts education and training. This is a wonderful opportunity for performers, performing arts educators and teachers to demonstrate their methods and techniques.

2nd International Colloquium: Celebrating 2009 European year of Creativity and Innovation
When: October 14-17, 2009
Where: Ljubljana, SLOVENIA
About: The Association of Slovene Fine Artists Societies, The National Institute of Education and InSEA (http://www.insea.org), in cooperation with partners from educational institutions are planning a small scale international colloquium. It will focus on the theme 'motivation (for) creativity and innovation'. It will explore problems, perspectives and dimensions of the concept of motivation in art(s) and cultural education, and its relationship to the concept of creativity and innovation.
