New Voices of Ireland Call for Artists

New Voices of Ireland 2017, Series 5, presented by the Centre for Creative Practices, is inviting submissions from migrant, experimental and emerging artists of all disciplines under the theme: “Migration – From Burdens to Opportunities”, deadline: 24 February 2017.

The theme is closely related to the topic of MIGRATION as it is to be expected that “immigration and the integration will remain the hottest political issues in Europe in 2016-2017.”

NEW VOICES OF IRELAND SERIES 2017, funded by the Arts Council, wants to challenge nationalist and xenophobic propaganda through exploring and exposing irrationalities and limitations of our fears. As an antidote, they want to concentrate on opportunities coming with such a challenge, such as migration.

Please apply with a short statement (max 2 pages) outlining what you suggest as an effective and creative approach to the selected theme and what type of project would you like to propose. Please attach also your artistic biography and other supporting materials if available.

Profile of artists invited to submit their proposals are: migrants, experimental, emerging artists, changing their living conditions and environment – coming back to Ireland from migration, moving from rural into urban area etc.

Remuneration: Each selected artists will receive a fee of €800.00 for the participation in the project. 100% participation in the workshops, consultation session and the final show will be mandatory. Some funding towards material costs and transport will be available.
