Call for volunteers: Darklight Film Festival 2009

The 2009 Darklight Festival is fast approaching and this year promises another exciting and innovative film programme.

Once again Darklight are seeking a team of motivated and passionate volunteers to help bring the festival to life.

Based in the heart of Dublin city, the festival runs from October 8-10 with a variety of positions available, including ushers, runners, technicians and IT assistants. Volunteering is the ideal opportunity to meet people, gain experience in the film industry, enhance your CV and immerse yourself in the festival program.

Call for volunteers: Open House Dublin 2009

Ireland's largest architectural event, Open House Dublin, presented by the Irish Architecture Foundation, returns from 8 -11 October 2009 with a special focus on 'Dublin's Architecture - The New Generation'.

Open House are looking for volunteers to help run the festival this year.   You don't need to know loads about architecture; all you need is to be interested and happy to get involved.

Natural Born Artists: Conference on Arts for Early Years hosted by Baboró

Baboró International Arts Festival for Children will host a conference exploring the world of the arts for early years (0 to 6 yrs) as part of the 2009 Baboró International Arts Festival for Children in Galway, Ireland.  The conference will take place on 16 and 17 October.

This conference will bring together parents and practitioners, artists, educators and researchers to explore and discuss the arts for early years with a view to further Irish artistic development and research in this area. There will be a series of presentations and discussions from the perspective of artistic development, children's engagement, child psychology, cultural policy, and the roles of adults (teachers and parents) in engaging with children and the arts.  Delegates will also attend performances and exhibitions programmed specifically for children in the Early Years range (0-6)
