Commissions Award next closing date - 5:30 p.m, Thursday 2 May 2019

The deadline for the next round of the Arts Council's Commissions Award is Thursday 2 May, 2019 at 5.30pm. The window for making an application opens on Tuesday 2 April 2019.

The following awards are available:

  • Music Commissions Award
  • Traditional Arts Commissions Award
  • Opera Commissions Award

The primary purpose of the award is to facilitate creative partnerships between a range of commissioners and artists. The Commissions Award supports fees paid to artists. The process must lead to some form of dissemination or presentation of the commissioned work in Ireland or abroad.

The award is open to individuals or organisations including artists, arts professionals, ensembles, local authorities, production companies and other agencies. Applications can only be made by the commissioner and not by the artist to be commissioned.

Award Guidelines for these awards will published on the available fundingsection on our website.

Please note

Applications will only be accepted through the Arts Council’s online services website. The commissioner and the artist/s to be commissioned must both be registered with the online services site prior to making an application. It is recommended that applicants allow five working days for registration prior to making an application.
