Arts Council and County and City Management Association published new 10-year agreement.
In Making Great Art Work (Objective 16) the Arts Council commits to developing our key strategic partnership with local government. So it was with great optimism we launched our new ten-year agreement with the County & City Management Association – A Framework for Collaboration on Thursday 18 February at Local Government House on Usher Quay in Dublin. It was a truly significant occasion with Chief Executives from every local authority in the country bearing testimony to the agreement and our shared conviction that by working together more closely we will achieve a lot more for arts development in Ireland.
This agreement will enable the Arts Council and Local Authorities to develop a more streamlined and consistent approach to funding the arts based on key principles of arts development, public engagement and spatial planning. It will also allow the Arts Council and Local Authorities to set targeted outcomes where we will be able to measure the impact of this relationship and see increased levels of public engagement and participation. We look forward to reporting regularly on the range of new projects and initiatives that will arise out of this historic agreement.
