Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board (KWETB) has begun a recruitment process for Musician Educators and a full-time Administrator to join the Music Generation Kildare team.
The Musician Educators will be integral to the design and delivery of a series of performance music education projects to be delivered across the five Municipal districts within County Kildare. Whilst there are specific projects already in place Music Generation Kildare are also seeking creative musicians with a practical understanding of online delivery and music technology, to help respond to the current musical landscape. The Administrator will be an integral part of the Music Generation Kildare team and will assist in the day to day delivery of a programme of performance music education projects across the whole county. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated person, who has first rate IT, communication and organisational skills to join us at the start of this exciting programme for the county.
Kildare is one of 25 areas now participating in Music Generation, Ireland’s national music education programme. Initiated by Music Network in 2010, Music Generation is co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, the Department of Education and Skills and Local Music Education Partnerships. Funded locally by KWETB and Kildare County Council, Music Generation Kildare is currently undertaking a detailed planning process, working towards a comprehensive programme of vocal and instrumental tuition which will be rolled out across the county this coming autumn. A particular focus of this planning has been on a system of blended learning, which will take into account the measures required to maintain social distancing. We are looking at incorporating online and virtual learning within our delivery programmes where appropriate, in order to best facilitate the breath of access to which we aspire.

Access to high quality music making is one of the core values of Music Generation, and we are eager to find creative solutions to achieve this. Young people, now more than ever, need performance music as an integral part of their lives in order to express themselves and to develop non-verbal communication methods, but we also need allow our young musicians’ to access new paths which foster inclusion, community and creative fun. The Musician Educators and the Music Generation Administrator will be a vital part of this process and we are looking for people to bring their vibrancy and enthusiasm to the team at this exciting time”
