Creative Europe mini-showcase – a spotlight on Ireland’s participation in the Creative Europe programme and looking to 2020, what will the European Capital of Culture mean for Galway?

Galway’s hard work was rewarded last year when it was announced that it had won the bid for hosting European Capital of Culture in 2020.  The work is on-going now as the team and the community prepare for the year-long cultural programme that will highlight the richness and diversity of cultures in Europe and celebrate our shared culture and values and experience as European citizens

With this special focus on European collaboration in Galway we thought it was an opportune time to spotlight Ireland’s involvement in European culture projects supported by the Creative Europe culture sub-programme.

Join us for this free event during the Galway International Arts Festival to hear from three Irish projects on their experiences of transnational culture projects, the joys, the pitfalls and why they do it.  This mini-showcase will be followed by a panel discussion hosted by Benita Lipps of the DaVinci Institute followed by a networking reception.

When:  Friday 21 July 4pm – 6.30pm

Where:  Galway City Museum, Spanish Parade, Galway City

This event is free but you do need to register here.

Funding calls – Support for European Cooperation Projects

The call for proposals for the Support for European Cooperation projects will be published in the coming months.  Don’t forget we’re here to help!  We will be announcing the date of our application workshop once the call has been published but in the meantime…… call us to talk through your project or email us with your queries, send us your draft proposal and/or budget for feedback.  We can give you tips and advice to ensure that your proposal is up to scratch for this competitive fund.  We can also offer some assistance in your search for partners.  It always helps to hear from those who have gone before you so sign up to our event above in Galway to get some inspiration.

Invite the Culture Office to speak at your event

Along with organising our own events, the Creative Europe Desk Ireland – Culture Office is regularly invited to speak at events across the country. The Culture Office presents the EU funding opportunities available under the Creative Europe Programme and offers advice on how to build partnerships and develop European projects.

If your organisation is planning a conference, seminar, workshop or partner meeting that would benefit from input or attendance by the Culture Office please contact us on cedculture@artscouncil.ie
