The Arts Council is seeking the provision of Coordination Services for Culture Night 2021. Culture Night is an annual, all-island public event that celebrates culture, creativity and the arts.
Since its inception in 2006, Culture Night has grown year on year and in 2020 the event successfully created a hybrid of online events (686) and in person events (322). While the number of overall events understandably reduced (by one third) the audience reach doubled to over 800,000 (compared to 430,000 in 2019). Emphasis was placed on Equality, Human Rights and Diversity and Paying the Artist as key policy priorities of the Arts Council.
The Arts Council is currently undertaking a comprehensive programme of review, research and consultation to help inform the future of Culture Night. This work is intended to be completed in March 2021. The successful tenderer will be appointed before this research is complete and will need to be ready to respond to any potential recommendations on the purpose, vision, values and priorities that may shape the tone of engagement and implementation approach in 2021.
The successful tenderer will encourage and steer the participation of a wide range of stakeholders across the island of Ireland. They will be the regional and international point of contact for participants and organisers and they will develop and deliver a comprehensive communications strategy while managing a (separate) third party budget for PR, Marketing and Communications.
Culture Night takes place each year on the second last Friday in September and is due to take place on Friday 17 September 2021.
The value of the contract is set the range €40,000 to €45,000, exclusive of VAT.
The closing date for receipt of tenders is 12 noon on 27 January 2021.
